Car insurance is a boon hat can give you peace when driving on the busiest streets. Having car insurance means that you can have confidence that the insurance company will pay for all the damages to your car that are results of an accident or unforeseen situation. The costs can mount to hundreds or thousands of dollars. So it’s best to have car insurance when you’re coming in for replacements or repairs.
However, since insurance policies can be very complicated, you may not even be covered by your policy if something happens to your car. If your car’s wheels get destroyed and the wheels are not covered by your policy, then the insurance company will have nothing to do with your repair or replacement expenses. This can be a waste, especially since you pay a hefty monthly fee to the insurance company to keep your insurance policy going.
To minimize the chances of being on the short end of the stick the next time something happens to your car, always be sure to get the best insurance you can. The best insurance does not mean the most expensive and feature loaded premium, because not everybody can afford the monthly fees and other expenses associated with these insurance policies. What you need is to get the best insurance possible with the money that you can afford to pay every month.
Aside from getting the best policy available, you should also sign up with an insurance company or agent that you can trust to help you when you do get into an accident. Do not just get any insurance agent or company, even if they offer the best rates. Just because they make it cheap for you to pay your insurance bills does not mean they will not hesitate to help you out and pay your expenses when you get into an accident.
When people get into accidents, their insurance agents (if they’re that sort) make it very hard on them and try to wiggle out of paying by arguing that they are not covered by the policy or that the insurance company should only pay part of the expenses. Ask around with family, friends and people you trust on who they believe the best and most trustworthy companies are before signing.

If you have ever had to do repair work or had someone else do repair work on your vehicle then you know how expensive auto body parts can be. Many times it is cheaper but way too difficult to do the work yourself. Other times it is nice to shop for used auto body parts, but they can be hard to find. When sitting down to make a decision on how best to fix your vehicle you need to ask yourself a few simple questions.
The first thing you need is whether or not you need to get a new part/s. For electronic components or moving parts getting used parts can be risky. However if you are looking for second-hand parts, then getting used can be a very viable option.
Selecting and Buying Your Used Auto Body Parts
The key to getting good prices on used auto body parts is persistence. The first thing you need to do is do some research on what junk yards and auto parts places are nearby. After you have done that you can begin calling them to see if they have the part you are looking for in stock.
If the part you want is in stock, take note of the price now is not the time to haggle. Keep good records of quoted prices so you can do that later
After you have developed a list of local retailers that have the part you are looking for set aside some time to go out and talk to them. Depending on how many have the auto body parts you are looking for you may need multiple days to get this done. You are definitely going to want to look at as many parts as possible as there will most assuredly be differences in the quality of the different parts.
While used parts may have a little wear and tear to them I would avoid purchasing parts with significant wear and tear as more than likely you will just end up having to buy them again. If the part looks up to scratch and of solid quality see if you can haggle down the price.
Unless it is a very strict junkyard you should be able to haggle on the price a bit. If the price is still to high, just politely inform the owner that you have a few other locations to check out. Even it is the price is good this is a good strategy for getting them to move on the price or at the very least test them to see if there is room to move.
Once you have purchased the product now it is a simple matter of installing it. If you can do this yourself than go for it, otherwise take the part with you to a mechanic and see what they can do.

Mercedes Benz is a marque that has throughout the years been associated with luxury and high build quality. When one sees a new Mercedes Benz with it’s beautiful lines driving down the road, its easy to forget that like most manufacturers Mercedes Benz have had their ups and downs, some of them quite recently; Mercedes build quality started to suffer in recent years, it came to the point where contract hire and leasing companies became nervous about recommending them. The model that came in for the most criticism was the M Class.
Various surveys at the time criticised Mercedes build quality; in 2003 The Consumer Association carried out a survey that criticised all the major German manufacturers, saying that they had all deteriorated, but Mercedes which they had previously considered best for reliability, was changed to average.
Some feel that when the BBC’s Top Gear programme gets a bee in its bonnet about a particular manufacturer, that they can go too far in their critisism. When they placed the Mercedes M Class last out of 142 cars surveyed, it did appear to be a little harsh but to be fair it wasn’t that far out of line with what others were saying about the car. In any event Mercedes realised that things had to change and they have indeed changed; Mercedes Benz have made great strides in restoring their good name.
Karl Benz was based in Mannheim when he invented what has become known as the world’s first automobile, it was patented in 1886. Benz called it the Benz Patent Motorwagen. It had three wheels which were hardly wider than those of today’s bicycle wheels, the occupants were completely exposed to the elements and subjected to a very bumpy ride. In those days lights to enable the driver to see and be seen, hadn’t been thought of.
In the meantime a gentleman by the name of Gottleib Daimler along with William Maybach were also busy inventing a car powered by an internal combustion engine. The vehicle was called the Daimler Riding car. The engine had an upright cylinder from which it derived its name the Grandfather Clock. Daimler called his vehicle a car but it was in fact a motorcycle, the worlds first. With its one cylinder, its speed at full throttle was 13 Kilometres an hour. Neither Benz or Daimler knew of the other’s work, even although they were only working about 100 Kilometres from each other.
When Daimler and Maybach completed their vehicle that they called the motorised carriage in 1886, they again used the Grandfather Clock engine. They had added 5 Kilometres per hour, the top speed was 18 Kilometres per hour. This vehicle had four wheels, which made it the worlds first four wheel car. The so called Wire Wheel Car that was produced by Daimler and shown at an exhibition in Paris in 1889, caused quite a stir. Seeing this vehicle on show at the exhibition is believed to encouraged the French to start manufacturing their own vehicles.
In 1890’s Karl Benz was building two, three and four seater vehicles but now with four wheels. He had developed the steering system so that the two front wheels could turn on a different radius, making the car much more stable.
The pace of development was fast in 1894 Benz introduced the Benz Motor Velocipide, it was a two seater vehicle with a top speed of about 20 kilometres per hour. It was the first car to be produced in any serious volumes he sold 1200. Benz then produced a motorized bus, it was a lovely looking vehicle but not terribly succesful; a combination of poor road conditions and its very narrow wheels made it farly impracticle.
Daimler launched a belt driven car in 1896, now with two cylinders but still it could only achieve 18 mph. Daimler’s truck, a flat bed truck, was the world’s first. It was rather odd looking but nevertheless very popular in spite of it’s fairly limiting top speed of 11kph. They were used by German breweries for beer deliveries, some were exported to England. Also in 1896 Daimler brought out a vehicle capable of carrying loads of aything up to 500kgs. It had a rather strange appearance, looking a little like one of the covered wagons you would see in films portraying the Wild West.
In 1899 Benz launched what was known as the Dos a Dos car where two passengers sat facing forward and two facing back, the car had an impressive speed of over 35 kilometres per hour.
William Maybach took control of the company when Daimler died in 1990. A gentleman by the name of Emil Jellinek encouraged Maybach to make changes. Jelinek was succesful both in motor racing and in business and he felt that Maybach needed to be building cars that were more modern in appearance and faster. He also persuaded Maybach to adopt the name Mercedes, after his daughter.
A number of more modern and faster car were produced by Daimler, in the early 1900’s. There was the 40 horsepower Mercedes Simplex that suceeded the 35 horsepower model. It was a single seater car with a top speed of 80 Kilometres per hour by now the car had 4 cylinders. One of these models is believed to be the oldest Mercedes still in existence.
The 18 horsepower Double Phaeton was launched by Benz in 1905,then in 1907 the six cylinder 75 hp Double Phaeton. Its top speed exceeded 94 kilometres per hour, very fast for its day. By now Benz was enjoying success in motor racing, as were Mercedes.
When the First World War started, car production ceased and the factories started producing materials and milatry vehicles, for the war effort. This was also the case in Britain. When the war ended, the German economy was all but destroyed;. Inflation was virtually out of control and there was a severe shortage of fuel, these were very difficult times for Germany. Cars became very expensive to buy; a luxury tax had been imposed on cars and very few people could afford to buy a new car. Nowadays motorists in the UK can aquire a new Mercedes on contract hire, for a monthly payment of around 300, how things have changed.
Benz found himself in a weak position and it is said that an approach was made by Daimler, with a view to merging with Benz, but it fell through. In 1924 with both companies suffering badly from the economic conditions, they signed an agreement and eventually merged in 1926.
When car production started again, the Mercedes two seater sports car was launched. It had a supercharged engine and a top speed of over 108 kilometres per hour. During 1927 Mercedes Benz started production of the Model S touring car, the S stood for sport. The vehicle had six cylinder and an amazing speed of over 160 kilometres per hour. 1928 saw the introduction of the SSK Sports two seater, it was designed for hill climbing races and was even faster at over 190 kilometres per hour.
The next really spectacular car produced by Mercedes Benz was the Mercedes-Benz 500K, in 1934. The Special Roadster was the most popular version with long sleek lines, it would still be considered by most today, as a beautiful car. It had eight cylinders and a top speed of 160 Kilometres per hour. It was really very expensive at 28,000 Marks and only for the seriously rich.
The 550K was followed by the 540K, a car not dissimilar in design but 10 kph faster. Mercedes were also manufacturing the Mercedes Benz 770, a very large luxury car. The vehicle was a favourite with Germany’s captains of industry, in which they would be chauffeur driven. At the time manufacturers did not seem concerned about the very small numbers that they produced of a particular model, before bringing out the next model, about 420 of the 540K were produced and Mercedes manufactured less than 120 of the 770.
Mercedes were accused of using forced labour and prisoners of war, for their manufacturing, during the Second World War. They had become part of the German war effort but of course it wasn’t a matter of choice; the British motor manufacturers were also part of the British War effort. The allied bombers, just as the German bombers targeted factories in Britain, heavily targeted the Mercedes manufacturing plants. At the end of the war, things looked very bleak for Mercedes; their factories lay in ruins, the machinery was damaged or destroyed and there was an extreme shortage of raw materials. Nevertheless in 1948 production was re started. 1951 saw the introduction of the 300 saloon, over 4500 were sold. The Mercedes Benz 300S convertible also went into production.
The 1950’s saw the launch of the famous Gull-Wing 2 seater hardtop, which took the motoring world by storm. Its distinctive Gull-Wing doors opened up into the roof. With the doors open they did look remarkably like a gulls wings, the design was far ahead of its time. Many were sold in America although it really was very expensive, believed to have cost around $10,000 at the time. Nevertheless a very good investment; a 1955 model was sold at auction in Sydney Australia in 2006 for $777,240 Australian Dollars, $720,000 usd. The Gull-Wing was succeeded in 1957 by the 300SL an open sports car also very much in demand in America. It was very fast with a top speed of just under 250 Kilometres per hour.
As far back as 1960 Mercedes were testing vehicles and transmitting the data to a specially adapted vehicle. It may seem strange in the current high tech world of today but the data was transmitted by way of a very long cable running from the test car to the other vehicle, which would drive behind it, hopefully keeping up.
In 1963 Mercedes introduced the 230 SL a sports car with a crumple free zone, the worlds first. It was surprisingly slow compared some of Mercedes earlier sports cars. This didn’t stop it being an enormous success; Mercedes sold almost 20,000 of the 230 SL, a far cry from the days when they were selling only a handful of each model. More safety innovations followed; in 1978 ABS was introduced by Mercedes Benz and then the airbag in 1981. Mercedes should be proud of their record in safety and the lives that they have inevitably saved over the years.
When Mercedes Benz launched the 190E in 1982, who would have thought at the time, that 638,000 would be sold over the course of the next eleven years. During the 1980s and 1990s Mercedes were enjoying considerable success. In 1998 the company merged with The Chrysler Corporation of America and Daimler Chrysler was formed. As is so often the case with these mergers/takeovers, it didn’t work out and Chrysler having initially invested $36 billion sold 80.1% of the company for $7.4 billion in 2007. The purchaser was Cerberus Capital Management.
Mercedes are now paying a great deal of attention to getting their build quality right and in a relatively short period of time have gone a long way to restoring their reputation and good name. Contract hire companies are once again happy to recommend Mercedes Benz and soon expect them, quite deservedly, to be once again categorised as best for reliability.

Car rentals are one of the most innovative things that people have come up with to make transportation easy. There are people who can’t afford the daily costs and challenges of owning their own cars and there are some who have lost their cars for one reason or another. And for these people, renting a car can be a life saver. The prices though, can vary.
There are many factors that affect the price of a rented car. The most obvious is the type of car that you rent. The more expensive a car is on the market, the more expensive it will be to rent. Also, the duration of the rental would also affect the price.
If you plan to get insurance for your rented car, it can also get a little more expensive. but it’s not as expensive of course as the costs you’ll pay if you meet an accident without paying insurance.
Watch out for promos when it comes to car rentals when it comes to duration. When you rent a car for a long time in some companies, you can get some discounts on the overall cost. This is great for long vacations where you need transportation for a long period of time but intend to save money.
There are expensive rentals that cost a lot of money. These vehicles are usually used for special occasions or rented by the very rich. But there are a lot of rental cars for everyday use that are not as glamorous but are more practical for very many people.
If you’re in need of a good car rental, you don’t have to look far. As the internet and a lot of directories give a lot of information about various car rental companies. You need to remember that the car isn’t yours and that the cost of giving it repairs because of negligence is a cost you really don’t need.

When gasoline gets to $10 gallon we are all going to have to change if we want to survive. Perhaps it is time we looked at using water to power our cars.
As oil supplies start to get used up and world demand continues to increase we can only expect oil to continue becoming more expensive. When the oilwells start to run dry everyone will be clamouring to buy whatever oil is left and we may wish we could buy gas for $10 gallon
The alternative energy supplies we have heard about for years are slowly developing but we need to be building lots of them right now. We must all start using less energy and less gas in any way we can before it all starts to run out.
We were taught at school that water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen both of which burn. Hydrogen is a very good fuel so we could be trying to get the hydrogen out of water and use that as gas but it used to be thought too expensive.
Engineers have been working away for years to develop simple ways to generate hydrogen gas from water and the seem to have succeeded. You can use these systems to generate gas and feed it into your car engine to use with normal gas.
You can easily find the parts locally and assemble them in your garage. They say you can fit the kit to your car in a couple of hours and be ready to run your car on water.
People have always wished they could run their cars on water. Water is free, or cheap and readily available and using these systems means that even though you still use normal gas as well you should save money on your fuel bills.
It is difficult to know how much gas you might save with these kits fitted to your car. Some people claim to double the miles they get for each gallon of gas but they may be special situations. Most folk reckon on saving about 20% or more so that comes to a great saving when you see the price gas is these days.

There is a growing number of laptop stands on the market today. This can be attributed to the increasing value of these compact computers to society. Laptops are no longer merely seen as luxury items that you use when you are out of the office and our homes. Most laptop owners already use such as an alternative to personal computers and at the same time a computer device that you can easily bring anywhere.
Laptop stands are available in many designs and among them are laptop bed stands. These stands are designed to bring comfort and efficiency to the users of laptop while they are sitting or lying on their back on the bed.
It is always a luxury to lie down while you work but now it is more feasible that ever to do so with laptop bed stands. With this laptop stand it becomes possible to finish your work or play, games or surf the web while lying down. This is a fantastic innovation with two designs currently out on the market.
The first type of laptop bed stand is available in wood and metal. This stand rests on the bed itself. On either side you have two legs, which can be folded using a hinge that can be locked to adjust the height of the stand. A user may position himself or herself between these legs. The laptop is placed atop a solid plane that can be reclined for the user’s convenience.
The second kind of laptop stands are ones that rest on the floor. If you’ve seen the wheeled tables that hospitals use to feed patients, they’re quite similar in shape and in that they have wheels. Others have a single post and plane to accommodate. This is one of the most comfortable working experiences ever.
Th post is placed on one side of the stand, making it possible to position the entire stand in such a way that the base is under the bed and the desk is lying on top of the user. All of the models here are very easy to use and are very convenient. It’s truly up to the user which one he uses.

Can you really buy cheap used cars and trucks at Government Auctions? The short answer is: Yes. In fact, it is not that unusual to find decent used vehicles for just a few hundred dollars. In fact, thousands are sold every day.
If you’re looking to buy cars at a government auction and get the best deal, then there are some things you need to know about. In this article we will discuss both the positives and negatives of government auctions. I will offer to use some long-term strategy which should pay off time and time again because it will teach you how to purchase cars and find the truly best deals from Government auctions.
In government car auctions, good things come to those who wait. This means waiting for the right kind of car. Also, waiting for the right bidding atmosphere. If you want a car too much, and you’re caught up in bidding wars, you will pay more than you should. Finally, you must be patient and do the research on the car you want to purchase. You must be able to eye test each car to determine if it runs well or if it’s in bad condition.
This is an important point: if you want to find a great deal on a vehicle and need one right away, you probably aren’t going to find it through Government auctions. This isn’t to say you can’t get a great deal at Government auctions for your vehicle, though. Here is some advice on how to locate and recognize great deals.
There are loads of high-quality vehicles with low mileage available at Government auctions, and they are always priced well under market value. Also, these are “fleet” vehicles used by various government agencies, and you won’t find these in any dealership or used car lot.
Government agencies pride themselves in maintaining outstanding condition of their vehicles. Eventually they sell these vehicles to acquire more modern vehicles, therefore giving you a great deal. These don’t come along every day, but when they do, you’ll be happy you found them.
In addition to buying a vehicle for personal use, you can find a great deal on a car, purchase it and then resell it yourself for a profit. You can do this over and over. This is another benefit of buying through Government car auctions.
In conclusion, the people who are most profitable by using government car auctions are those who are patient. They patiently wait to find the best deals on good cars, and they often have another strategy besides just the initial purchase. Government auctions are where you can get the greatest deals if you know how to do it. Follow the principles given in this article, and you’ll be well on your way.

Do Government Auctions really sell cheap used cars and trucks? Yes they do, every day. Actually, it’s fairly easy to find decent, inexpensive used vehicles; often for just a few hundred dollars. Thousands of cars and trucks are sold like this every day.
Before trying to purchase a cheap used car or truck at a government auction, there are some things you want to be aware of. In this article we’ll look at both the negatives and positives of buying at government auctions. I’ll give you some long-term strategies that you can use over and over again because it will teach you how to find the very best deals on used vehicles from Government auctions.
In Government Auctions as in so many things in life, good things come to those who wait. This means waiting for the right car or truck. It also means waiting for the right bidding atmosphere. If you are over-eager, you can get caught up in bidding wars and pay more than you should. You must be patient, and do the research on the car you want to purchase. You should also be able to effectively “eye test” each car to determine if it runs well or if it’s in bad condition.
The point to keep in mind is that if you wabt a great deal on a car and you need it right away, you probably shouldn’t be looking for it through Government auctions. Great deals abound, but patience is imperative. Now we’ll talk about how to locate and find great deals.
There are loads of high-quality vehicles with low mileage available at Government auctions, and they are always priced well under market value. Also, these are “fleet” vehicles used by various government agencies, and you won’t find these in any dealership or used car lot.
Most Government agencies maintain their vehicles in outstanding condition. These vehicles are leased, and when the lease is up, they are auctioned to the public for a fraction of market value. The particular cars and trucks available on any given day vary widely.
Sometimes the best opportunities at these car auctions requires more than one transaction. For example, you can buy these vehicles and then resell them yourself for a profit. It is not uncommon to “shop” these auctions, find a terrific deal, then sell it a month or two later and turn a nice profit. This is another benefit of buying through Government car auctions.
Remember that those who are most profitable with government auctions are those who are patient. Be patient to find the best deals on good cars, and consider other strategies besides just the initial purchase, such as reselling your vehicle. Government auctions are some of the best places to find great deals if you know how to do it. Keep in mind the tips given in this article, and you’ll do extremely well!

Try to imagine gas costing $10 for every gallon. One day gas could reach that price so we should look at running our cars on water instead.
Oil supplies are being used up even while demand is growing around the world. We are rapidly approaching a time when the oil that can be pumped out of the ground is less than the world’s demand for oil. When that day arrives you might think that $10 for a gallon of gasoline would be cheap.
We need to act fast to develop alternative energy supplies. We should be responding to this potential crisis to the same degree we would react to war. Everybody needs to feel involved in reducing our demand for imported oil by improving the insulation in properties and using their cars in a more economical way and using less gas.
We were taught at school that water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen both of which burn. Hydrogen is a very good fuel so we could be trying to get the hydrogen out of water and use that as gas but it used to be thought too expensive.
These days, engineers have developed simple systems that you can build yourself and fit to your car which can give you hydrogen gas to use as fuel for your engine and save you gas.
You can easily find the parts locally and assemble them in your garage. They say you can fit the kit to your car in a couple of hours and be ready to run your car on water.
It has always been a dream of engineers to be able to run a car on water and while you do still need to use normal gas as well these systems do say that using the hydrogen should give you better gas consumption.
It is difficult to know how much gas you might save with these kits fitted to your car. Some people claim to double the miles they get for each gallon of gas but they may be special situations. Most folk reckon on saving about 20% or more so that comes to a great saving when you see the price gas is these days.

The introduction of the 2009 Acura TSX is making even the most demanding car shoppers sit back and admire. The latest model of the Acura TSX, available as of April 2008, is definitely the latest and greatest in a line of great vehicles by Acura. The outstanding combination of performance, safety and design features doesn’t leave anything to be desired.
We all want to feel safe and secure and the 2009 Acura TSX ensures that there’ll be no question when it comes to safety! With anti lock brakes, stability control, and a full array of air bags to protect everyone in the vehicle; the entire car full is as safe as can be. But the 2009 Acura TSX takes it a step further, offering more than the typical family car. It also provides the bit of “edge” that consumers are looking for!
When redesigning the new 2009 Acura TSX, advanced safety features were only the beginning. Power and performance were on the forefront of the engineers’ mind and because of such the new Acura TSX also features a 2.4 liter inline 4 cylinder engine capable of reaching 201 horse power and 172 lb-ft torque! The new engine will distribute power across a wider range of rpms, which when combined with the increased torque, should provide a greater feeling of power and control for the driver. With these adjustments to the engine, the Acura TSX is expected to receive up to 30 miles per gallon on the highway.
In 2009, the Acura TSX is expected to receive Honda’s 2.2-litre i-DTEC clean turbo diesel engine. This engine is equipped with an advanced Nox emissions reduction system, which will make the Acura TSX even more environmentally friendly. The i-DTEC engine when used in the 2009 Acura TSX will require no urea additives to meet emission standards.
Both engine options for the 2009 Acura TSX (the 2.4 liter engine and the i-DTEC engine) will offer both 5 speed automatic and 6 speed manual transmission options. And the automatic transmission will come with the added benefit of steering wheel paddle shifters enabling optional manual shifting.
During the process of redesigning the Acura TSX for 2009, its size was increased. The 3 inch width increase will allow drivers to increase stability and control with their 2009 Acura TSX. This means that the vehicle will offer a 2.6 inch wider track and a 1.3 inch longer wheelbase in comparison to previous models. The 2009 Acura TSX will also have its length increased by 2.4 inches.
The new 2009 Acura TSX will of course be equipped with the standard luxury features expected from Acura, but in addition Acura has added a USB port music interface and will have an optional technology package, which includes a navigation system real-time traffic and weather, and a 10-speaker premium sound system with DVD-audio capabilities. Also making an appearance on the new TSX is Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, which is designed to reduce accident impact on passengers.
Drivers and passengers of the 2009 Acura TSX will also enjoy a power moon roof, 17-inch alloy wheels, Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, heated front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, satellite radio and HandsFreeLink (Bluetooth) wireless connectivity; a navigation system with voice activation is optional.
Whether you’re looking for a safe, fuel efficient family 4 door, an edgy and sporty sedan, or a luxurious comfortable ride, the choice is the same; the new 2009 Acura TSX!
