XD Series Wheels - Pimp Out Your Vehicle

There’s a need out there for good-looking wheels and rims that can do dual-duty in an off-road capacity. Truck and SUV enthusiasts don’t want to be left out of the fashion and style game when it comes to their own rides. To address this, KMC Wheel Company came up with a good solution in a purpose-built lineup they’re offering. In this case, XD Series Chrome Wheels deliver for trail or street in every instance.

From big-to-small. XD Series wheels and rims come in a variety of sizes, from 15 inches all the way up to 24 inches. They also vary in the number of lugs needed and in the bolt-on pattern required. Some are for a straight-up looking street SUV, and some are for a raised or lifted truck. There are even some for “dualie” trucks that have four rear wheels.

Any difference? Wheels and rims, in reality, have almost no differences between them. It’s true that truck wheels have a few technical characteristics, sometimes, that can differentiate a rim from a wheel, but that’s about it. Overall, it’s more a matter of personal preference when you call one of these units a wheel or a rim. For the most part, you hear the word “rim” from vehicle custom tuner enthusiasts who wouldn’t be caught dead calling their rolling stock anything but rims.

Steel for years. In the old days, the only metal suitable for use on an SUV or truck was steel. It had the advantage of being rugged, durable and relatively inexpensive to make and maintain, as it was pretty resistant to rust buildup. But it was a bit heavy, though that’s not as important in truck wheels and rims as it is on automobile wheels or rims.

Pride of place for aluminum. Over the last few decades, aluminum has more-and-more become the alloy of choice when it comes to making a purpose-built truck Custom Rims. This is mainly due to the ability to make an aluminum wheel in a variety of styles, interior shapes and offsets, and lots of colors. And aluminum, because it’s an alloy, is completely immune to oxidizing rust. The fact that it’s lighter is an added benefit, though (again) it’s not as important to an SUV or truck owner.

Hang on for dear life. XD Series Wheels and Rims come in a variety of bolt requirements and patterns. Smaller-size SUV or truck wheels start at 15 inches, with 5 or 6 lugs. Larger units can run up to 24 inches, with an 8 lug package do the fastening chores.

Get dirty and still show off. The XD Series lineup from the KMC Wheel Company has wheels and rims that can make even an off-road beast look good while it’s out getting muddy. Lifted trucks benefit from this, too, as do the street-warrior urban SUVs so popular in big cities and small towns today. Dualie owners are also getting in on the game, for that matter.

Basics of Car Repair

The fuel filter can protect the engine from damage when it is maintained in perfect condition. A properly functioning fuel filter shields the carburetor and fuel injection from being clogged by tiny particles. The fuel filter is an engine component that should be replaced at least once per year in the average commuter vehicle. The replacement is accomplished in just a few minutes and the best way on how to replace a fuel filter is by avoiding skipping the fuel system pressure release step.

It is recommended that the fuel filter be replaced every 60,000 miles, an easy process that can get messy due to gasoline spills. The car needs to be raised a little bit in order to access the fuel filter located right in front of the rear tire on the right side of the car. a good advice on how to replace a fuel filter is by disabling the fuel pump to reduce the amount of leaking gas falling on the head. Fuel that flows from the filter to the engine can be blocked by a clogged fuel filter.

The engine definitely gets starved without a fuel pump. There are many ways on how to replace a fuel pump including working in a well ventilated and open area. An electric fuel pump is replaced using tools like socket set, fire extinguisher, a large fuel catch container, flat head screwdriver, new fuel line, Philips head screwdriver, open end wrench set and a replacement fuel pump. The electric fuel pump generates a high fuel pressure for it supplies the electronic fuel injection with pressurized fuel.

The fuel pressure needs to be released before removing the fuel pump and its associated parts. One way on how to replace a fuel pump is by disconnecting the negative terminal to the battery to avoid any sparks. Fuel pump that mounts underneath the car is easily located by sliding under the car and unscrewing a couple of bolts that hold it in place. It will drop down slightly but everything has to be disconnected for it to come out of its insulating sleeve.

Those fuel pumps that are mounted within the fuel tank have to be removed from the inside of a car. The in-tank is accessed from under the carpet with the access panel in the truck or it is alternatively accessed from under the back seat. Disconnecting the fuel lines is another way on how to replace a fuel pump. The hose clamp holding the pressure side in is loosened and the fuel lines removed. The high fuel pressure remains present even after turning off the engine.
